23 Coloured Earth
[edit]Some consequences of volcanoes eruption can be stunning and because it is found at the foot of a volcano, La Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park inherited a beautiful consequence of million-years chemical reactions from volcanic ashes which changed in composition over time as rain, moisture, oxygen, and carbon dioxide interacted, resulting in a palette of 23 colours ranging from red to brown, pale yellow, ochre, purple, bluish and greenish. The volcano that caused this was Bassin Blanc and is similar to the Seven Coloured Earths in Chamarel, but except seven colours, there’s twenty three!
Waterfalls
[edit]As they flow into the rivers, waterfalls enhance the water quality through the provision of oxygen, which helps fish and other living animals.
The valley consists of four different waterfalls which vary in size and height: Cascade Vacoas, Cascade Chamouzé, Cascade Bois de Natte and Cascade Cheveux d'Ange are our superb waterfalls where visitors can listen to swooshing water and relax in natural intimacy and feel inner peace.
